Reception for Clara Sereni, Madison, WIIn November 2009, Clara Sereni came to Madison and Chicago. Clara gave a talk about her writings: how food and cooking traverse the private and the public, encompassing Italian literature and Italian Cinema. Clara and Giovanna presented the English translation of her book, Keeping House: A Novel in Recipes.

Giovanna Miceli Jeffries and Italian Ambassador, Giovanni CastellanettaOn June 13, 2009, Giovanna Miceli Jeffries, representing WisItalia, attended the second national conference on the status and promotion of Italian in the USA. The conference was successfully organized by NIAF and the Italian Embassy of Washington D.C. to bring together representatives from various Italian-American organizations, Italian language non–profit organizations (Enti Gestori, such as WisItalia), representatives of Italian departments, Italian teachers and professional associations, consular educational officers, etc.

Homemade biscotti, WIThe May 30, 2009, WisItalia meeting was held in Fitchburg, at the Festa Italia grounds shelter, Fitchburg's McKee Farm Park, WI. After the meeting, Giovanna Miceli Jeffries, Rita Prigioni and Larry Godding setup a WisItalia table in front of the Cultural Display tent.

Kenosha Italian language studentsOn April 26, 2009, the Italian language students and parents from Bradford, St. Joseph and Tremper High Schools hosted their Annual Mostaccioli Dinner fundraiser for their Italian language classes. The event was held at the Italian American Society at 2217 52nd Street, Kenosha.

Italian Day posterOn Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 110 high school students participated in the third Italian Day event, "Forza con l'italiano" held at the UW-Madison campus. This fun event takes place every two years among the high schools that offer Italian as part of their curriculum.

Bradford Italian Club, Kenosha, WIThe Mary D. Bradford High School Italian Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin participated in the homecoming day parade Friday, October 10, 2008. Students built and decorated a gondola and participated in all homecoming activities, including the dance.
