Festa Italia was held the weekend of June 4-6, 2010, in Fitchburg, WI. Although the rain washed out some of the performances, a good time was had by all!

On May 31, 2010, the Festa Italia Queen, Phyllis DeGioia, rode in style in the il Corvo Pedicab during the Memorial Day Parade in Monona, WI. Larry Godding was the charioteer. Along for the ride was Frank Alfano, president of the Italian Workmen's Club in Madison, and a few of the Italian Folk Dancers and their children. It was a great day.

WisItalia celebrated its 7th annual Awards Banquet on May 22, 2010, at the Italian-American Society of Kenosha, 2217 52nd Street, Kenosha, WI. Awards went to Joanna Stenson - Teacher of the Year; Vincent F. Ruffolo - President's Award; and Rita Prigioni - Outstanding Service Award.

In November 2009, Clara Sereni came to Madison and Chicago. Clara gave a talk about her writings: how food and cooking traverse the private and the public, encompassing Italian literature and Italian Cinema. Clara and Giovanna presented the English translation of her book, Keeping House: A Novel in Recipes.

An Italian Language Immersion program was held for two weeks (June 15 – 26, 2009) in Madison with the participation of 6 children, age 4-9. “Il prato verde e il lago azzurro” (Green meadow and blue lake), the name of the camp, was organized and taught by Giovanna Miceli Jeffries, with the assistance of Tony Manzo.

On June 13, 2009, Giovanna Miceli Jeffries, representing WisItalia, attended the second national conference on the status and promotion of Italian in the USA. The conference was successfully organized by NIAF and the Italian Embassy of Washington D.C. to bring together representatives from various Italian-American organizations, Italian language non–profit organizations (Enti Gestori, such as WisItalia), representatives of Italian departments, Italian teachers and professional associations, consular educational officers, etc.

The Madison Italian Folk Dancers visited Mr. Godding's 2nd/3rd grade class at Sandburg Elementary School in Madison on October 24, 2008. Students from Ms. Vidulich's 1st grade class and Ms. O'Duffy's 1st grade class also enjoyed the show.View album >>
The October 18, 2008, WisItalia meeting was held in Green Bay, at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Brown County, Green Bay, WI. The Green Bay Italo-Americano Club graciously hosted the gathering and provided delicious homemade biscotti for the occasion.

The Mary D. Bradford High School Italian Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin participated in the homecoming day parade Friday, October 10, 2008. Students built and decorated a gondola and participated in all homecoming activities, including the dance.
